The ongoing federal government shutdown could potentially affect SNAP benefits, many Sac County families will struggle to put food on their tables, and our food pantries will be overburdened.
How You Can Help
Donate non-perishable food items such as
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal
- Pasta, rice
- Canned meats (chicken, SPAM, tuna) and soups
- Meals in a box
- Baby food, formula
- Shelf-stable milk
Thanksgiving Meal Donation Ideas
Help families celebrate the season with:
- Boxed stuffing mix
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Gravy packets or canned gravy
- Canned green beans, corn, potatoes
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Cranberry sauce
- Boxed cornbread or biscuit mix
- Pie filling or crust mixes
- Hot chocolate, coffee, or tea
- Jell-O or pudding mix
